The Thistle
My Mother had a thistle problem, scores of thistles in the front garden, she's tired of digging them up. I told her about the theory that many garden 'weeds' come to restore something to the earth and that you had to let a few grow. Well we compromised and allowed a really big one to grow.
It was quite the specimen.
My Mother started to dislike the look of it as it got older but I told her it was very important to allow it to go through all the stages of life.
Despite this, She still got rid of it before it completely died back by itself and planted a few things in it's place.
So another had to be allowed to grow and it did fix the thistle 'problem'.
